Forge of Antiphon is a roguelike gamemode in [[NOISZ STΔRLIVHT]]; the mode is accessible during [[NOISZ STΔRLIVHT/Events#Synthetic_Events|Synthetic Events]], and requires 4 [[NOISZ STΔRLIVHT|COINZ]] for a single playthrough. 

This mode is unlocked after clearing [[NOISZ_STΔRLIVHT/Story/Chapter_6.IV|Chapter 6.IV]].

The difficulty selected will affect what songs at what [[NOISZ STΔRLIVHT/Difficulty and Power|difficulty]] appear, within the following brackets:

For example, [[conflict]] Easy (4.0) [[Unknown Civilization]] Normal (6.0) may appear in an Easy playthrough, while [[Lure]] Hard (11.0) and [[ANNIHILATOR]] Overload (12.5) may appear in an Overload playthrough.

If the player has previously completed a playthrough to obtain a fully upgraded Antiphon Armament style, only one Module will be kept for the next playthrough; the rest will be lost. The player may choose which one is kept.

==Iterations ==

A single playthrough consists of 8 "iterations"; stages in which the player is offered several options. Generally, these options are Battles, Elite Battles, Error Battles, and Shop: 
*A <span style="font-weight: bold; background-color: #FFABDF; color: #E345A4;>Battle</span> (pink border) is a simple playthrough of a random song of a relevant difficulty, with no challenges.
*An <span style="font-weight: bold; background-color: #E35757; color: #391011;>Elite Battle</span> (red border) is a random song with a challenge applied.
*An <span style="font-weight: bold; background-color: #B2B2B2; color: #000000;>Error Battle</span> (gray border) is a random song with no challenges. However, this song will be outside of the regular difficulty brackets for the selected difficulty, and will also have 0 PW requirement. Error Battles can also be songs that would normally require [[Forge_of_Antiphon#Expansion_Disk|Expansion Disk]].
*A <span style="font-weight: bold; background-color: #D9FFFF; color: #22558A;>Shop</span> (blue border) will take the player to the [[Forge_of_Antiphon#Shop|Shop]], where they can exchange [[Forge_of_Antiphon#V-COINZ|V-COINZ]] (Forge of Antiphon's currency) and PW for [[Forge of Antiphon/Modules|Modules]], [[NOISZ STΔRLIVHT/Stats|Stat]] boosts, and healing.

Battles, Elite Battles and Error Battles award a +1 bonus for the shown [[NOISZ STΔRLIVHT/Stats|Stat]], [[Forge_of_Antiphon#V-COINZ|V-COINZ]], and the [[Forge of Antiphon/Modules|Module]] shown; the player may tap the module icon to display the chosen Module's benefits to influence their decision.

In early Iterations, chosen songs will tend towards difficulties at the lower end of the selected difficulty scale (ie Iteration 1 in an Easy playthrough will feature mostly, if not all, difficulty 4.0 songs) while at higher Iterations, songs tend towards the higher bound of the scale (for example, [[Blood, Sweat, & Tears]] Hard (7.0)) may appear near or at the final Iteration.

Note that HP is also shared between Iterations; taking damage in one song will carry over that damage to the next Iterations.

It is possible to reroll battles (and rewards) by spending health. A reroll will generate new battles for the current iteration, not necessarily of the same type (regular, Elite, Error). Shop ignores rerolls. The first reroll costs 10% of your maximum health, and each additional reroll increases the cost by an additional 10%. By playing a song, the cost gets reduced by 5%.

A run is ended when you fail to clear a song, or when you successfully clear the final iteration. A summary of the run will be displayed under the message "Synthesis Completed", listing each iteration and its result. Red text on an iteration means the song was failed.

== List of songs ==

In Forge of Antiphon, only free to play songs will appear - i.e. songs unlocked through the [[NOISZ STΔRLIVHT/Passes#Event_Pass|Event Passes]] or [[NOISZ STΔRLIVHT/Passes#Club_Passes|Club Passes]] will not appear in the pool of possible songs, unless the [[Forge of Antiphon#Expansion Disk|Expansion Disk option]] is enabled.

However, there are some songs that cannot appear under any circumstances :
* Style locked songs:

==V-COINZ==
V-COINZ (not to be confused with [[NOISZ STΔRLIVHT/COINZ|COINZ]]) are the main currency of the Forge of Antiphon. They can be earned through playing songs, selling [[Forge of Antiphon/Modules|Modules]] in the shop, and exchanging [[NOISZ STΔRLIVHT/Difficulty and Power|PW]] for them in the shop.

The number of V-COINZ acquired from clearing a song varies based on a variety of factors. [[NOISZ STΔRLIVHT/TP|TP]] (Technical Points) and difficulty number of the cleared song seem to have a clear positive correlation with V-COINZ obtained. The Fanmail Box and Cursed Gift [[Forge of Antiphon/Modules|Modules]] increase V-COINZ drops when equipped. Elite battles do not have a higher V-COINZ cap than standard battles, and amount of Overflow does not influence V-COINZ rates.

The general trend for V-COINZ follows the formula:

Where <math>V_M</math> is the maximum amount of V-COINZ available for that song's difficulty number, and <math>T</math> is TP as a number between 0 and 1; a TP of 100.00 will correspond to 1, a TP of 50.00 corresponds to 0.5 and so on.

Maximum V-COINZ obtainable is dependent on a song's difficulty number.

V-COINZ are used to purchase [[NOISZ STΔRLIVHT/Stats|Stat]] boosts, [[Forge of Antiphon/Modules|Modules]], and HP refills in the shop.

The pool of [[Forge of Antiphon/Modules|Modules]] available in the Shop is random; however, there will always be two Common Modules, one Uncommon Module, and one Rare Module. Modules have a set cost depending on when in the run they appear in the shop, and increase between shop iterations (these can only appear during Iterations 3, 5 and 7). Costs by rarity go as follows:

Stats can be purchased from the shop as well. Purchasing a stat from the shop will upgrade said stat a single point. These are the stat prices across the different Iterations:

Stat points cannot be sold.

PW can be sold at a rate of 2 V-COINZ per one PW, and a shop reroll costs 25 PW. PW can also be exchanged for HP recovery.

==Stats==

At the beginning of a playthrough, the chosen character's Antiphon Armament style returns to level 5, its PW set back to its base at level 5, and stats return to their base - all D except for C in the characters "main" stat - TEC for [[Sera Hoshikawa|Sera]], ATK for [[Sumire Hitori|Sumire]], HP for [[Grace Kamenashi|Grace]], and SPC for [[Hakuno Nekoda|Hakuno]]. In the case of [[Joker]], her stats will be all D, with an extra 200 PW.

The style will level up by 5 with each battle, gaining PW with each level up depending on the difficulty of the run. In addition, its stats will increase as battles are completed each iteration. The stat a given battle will reward is shown on the selection menu, if applicable.

== Modules==

In addition to Stat boosts, completing Battles also awards a random Module; generally, the greater the challenge, the more valuable the Module awarded. Modules enhance the Antiphon Armament's playstyle in various ways, from having [[NOISZ STΔRLIVHT/Notes|Sparks]] deal Radiant damage to slowing down [[NOISZ STΔRLIVHT/Gameplay|RS-DASH]] speed. Modules may also be purchased from the event's [[Forge_of_Antiphon#Shop|Shop]].

The number of active modules depends on the style's level; at Level 10, only one Module may be active, and the rest are in storage. The style gains one additional active Module slot (replacing a storage slot) every 10 levels, for a maximum of 5 active slots at level 40. The order in which modules are equipped is not relevant for their effects.

Note that with every new playthrough, all Modules except one attached to the style will be lost, though the player is allowed to choose which one to keep.

==Forged In Darkest Abyss==

Under certain conditions, players can access a ninth iteration, and play [[Forged In Darkest Abyss]], a song only initially accessible through Forge of Antiphon. The risks are great, but so are the rewards...

While failing a song in any other iteration ends the run, Iteration 9 is special in the sense that it allows for retrying on failure. Each retry costs 100 V-COINZ and it completely heals you back. Once V-COINZ are depleted, each retry costs 25 PW. If the iteration is completed successfully (ie. song cleared), these changes in PW are permanently saved to the resulting style, unless [[Forge_of_Antiphon#Dummy_Plug|Dummy Plug]] is being used.

The rewards for clearing Iteration 9 are:
* Allowing the [[Forge_of_Antiphon/Modules#Heart_of_the_Challenger|Heart of the Challenger]] to [[Forge_of_Antiphon/Modules#Heart_of_the_Challenger_Evolutions|evolve]].
* A number of [[NOISZ_STΔRLIVHT/Items#Void_Crowns|Void Crowns]], a special item used for [[NOISZ_STΔRLIVHT/Styles#V-IGNITION|V-IGNITION]]. By using these, it is possible to raise the level cap of some styles to 50, making them much stronger and upgrading their style ability permanently.
* Unlocking Forged in Darkest Abyss in the selected difficulty of the run for free play.

[[Forged In Darkest Abyss]] can also be unlocked for free play by failing it a number of times.

== ⠀==

On obtaining a certain [[Forge_of_Antiphon/Modules#Heart_of_the_Challenger|Heart of the Challenger]] [[Forge_of_Antiphon/Modules#Hollowed Heart|evolution]], an additional challenge will appear...

Iteration 10 features an exclusive song to Forge of Antiphon: [[⠀(NOISZ STΔRLIVHT)|⠀]]. It uses the same retrying mechanics as Iteration 9, using V-COINZ and PW.

The rewards for clearing Iteration 10 are:
* Allowing the [[Forge_of_Antiphon/Modules#Heart_of_the_Challenger|Heart of the Challenger]] to [[Forge_of_Antiphon/Modules#Heart_of_the_Challenger_Evolutions|evolve]] a second time.
* Having your Antiphon Armament duplicated (if the Heart is denied, a copy of the current Armament is added to the first Armament slot).
* A number of [[NOISZ_STΔRLIVHT/Items#Void_Crowns|Void Crowns]].
* Unlocking [[⠀(NOISZ STΔRLIVHT)|⠀]] in the selected difficulty of the run for free play.

==Options==
Forge of Antiphon has additional options available when starting a run. In order to enable these, you must first complete a run with the currently available character.

===Dummy Plug===
Reduces the cost of a run from 4 [[NOISZ STΔRLIVHT|COINZ]] to 2, with the following effects:
<ul>
<li>Prevents you from keeping the Antiphon Armament build obtained in this run.</li>
<li>While a Dummy Plug run is started, you cannot use your existing Antiphon Armament style outside of Forge.</li>
<li>After the run is done, you will recover your Antiphon Armament for use outside of Forge as it was before.</li>
<li>Dummy Plug runs do not allow for [[Forge_of_Antiphon/Modules#Heart of the Challenger Evolutions|Heart of the Challenger Evolutions]].</li>
<li> Since the Heart cannot evolve, the Evolution always results in deny, increasing the amount of [[NOISZ_STΔRLIVHT/Items#Void Crowns|Void Crowns]] obtained.</li>
<li>Additionally, because [[Forge_of_Antiphon/Modules#Hollowed_Heart|Hollowed Heart]] is an Evolution, it is not possible to access [[⠀(NOISZ STΔRLIVHT)|Iteration 10]] in a Dummy Plug run, unless you bring an already evolved Hollowed Heart into it.</li>
</ul>

===Expansion Disk===
Additional songs from outside the story are available. This includes [[NOISZ STΔRLIVHT/Passes#Club Passes|Club Pass]] and [[NOISZ STΔRLIVHT/Passes#Event Pass|Event Pass]] songs.

===Glitched Catalyst===
Skip to [[Forged In Darkest Abyss|Iteration 9]] using your existing Armament and gain 400 V-COINZ. Costs [[NOISZ STΔRLIVHT/Items#Void Crowns|Void Crowns]].

Glitched Catalyst can only be used if your current Armament is LV50. On re-entering Iteration 9, it will reset to LV44 and lose evolutions accordingly.<ref>https://twitter.com/noiszgame/status/1676441353746542594</ref>

[[Forge of Antiphon/Modules#Hollowed Heart|Hollowed Heart]] cannot be obtained in Glitched Catalyst; it must be brought in from a prior run.

Using Glitched Catalyst while keeping [[Forge_of_Antiphon/Modules#Hollowed_Heart|Hollowed Heart]] will put you in Iteration 9, but after clearing it the evolution will be skipped and you will directly jump to [[⠀(NOISZ STΔRLIVHT)|Iteration 10]].

The Void Crown cost to use Glitched Catalyst varies by difficulty:
