Playing in free play does not require any COINZ, although the player may opt to spend COINZ to obtain extra EXP and drops from completing songs in free play. ==COINZ (Pre-2.000)==
Before COINZ were revamped in [[NOISZ STΔRLIVHT/Update History|version 2.000]], COINZ were divided into three tiers.

Bronze COINZ were obtained for free and regenerated naturally over time. A maximum of 8 could be held at any given time. They had the same function as Silver COINZ. Bronze COINZ were always used before Silver COINZ.

Silver COINZ could be earned by watching ads, purchasing them in the [[NOISZ STΔRLIVHT/Shop|Shop]], or as rewards for completing certain [[NOISZ STΔRLIVHT/Story|story content]]. There was no cap on the maximum number of Silver COINZ that could be held at once.

Gold COINZ could only be obtained by purchasing them in the Shop. Gold COINZ function like lower tiers of COINZ, in addition to granting 2x EXP and drops when used.
