Several years ago, we thought the key to our dreams lay in the World of Music. That disaster was the beginning of everything.

Story

Since she was young, Arietta wished to create the perfect piece of music. However, she is unusually completely unable to compose new music. Her father, Gaius, scolds her for trying to pursue such things, noting her suffering grades, and tells her to move on. Her sister, Beyond, attempts to tell him about the World of Music's influence on Arietta, but is interrupted by Gaius remanding her, stating that there is no way for humans to reach the World of Music.

Unwilling to give up, Beyond takes Arietta to look through their father's files together to find a way to reach the World of Music. When they manage to open the portal, Alpha appears and possesses Arietta, attempting to lure her into the void, but is halted by Beyond forcing the portal to shut down. Unfortunately, this damages both the sister's bodies and leads to the barrier between the two worlds being damaged.

Ever since the incident, Alpha has been attempting to manipulate Arietta into spilling blood to atone for their mistakes, to the point Arietta wonders if it is actually her own. When Gaius begins to sever the connection between worlds, and that voice suddenly disappears, Arietta understands what they must do and who their true enemy is. She explains she can only hold consciousness for an hour, at best, and that Beyond has been forced into stasis. However, she cannot let the world pay for her sins, which is why she asks for help from her first friend, Joker.

Seiryu suddenly interrupts, admonishing Joker for trying to run from her crimes. She tells Joker that she is Arietta, having invented the persona of Beyond and using Antiphon's power to cover up STΔRLIVHT's disappearance after being sent to die against Gaius. Now, she has come to punish her for what she did to them, and attacks.

After the fight, Joker expresses remorse for what she did, only for Sera to appear to interrupt her. She tells Joker that, even if STARLIVHT did die, it wasn't her fault, and encourages her to believe in herself as she moves forward. The distant past then begins to fade, as Joker is brought back to the "present".
