2ECONDS TO STΔRLIVHT: My Heart's Reflection

Sumire talks with her best friends Rise and Ai by the lockers as Rise and Ai give her a handmade gift; eventually, the topic turns to a video Rise saw of someone falling over online, and afterwards, Sumire and Ai go to class, with Rise loitering in the cafeteria.

After class they reconvene, and Ai and Sumire make plans to bake together at the weekend. Shortly afterwards, Rise interrupts the conversation to speak ill of the new transfer student, Hakuno, and spread rumours about her; Sumire is deeply uncomfortable with the spiteful behaviour on display, and runs to the bathroom, bumping into the school's new transfer student on the way.

When she returns, Sumire finds Rise and Ai bullying Hakuno, and steps in to confront both Rise and Ai, visibly angry. After Hakuno runs off, Sumire follows her and comforts her, walking her home and exchanging numbers; the two of them become friends.

Eventually, the two of them decide to form an LGBTQ+ club at school, which attracts two members: Rhyme and Han. From then on, they meet at Tuesdays and Thursdays in an abandoned classroom for the next few months as the Flaming Pride Friendship Squad, and eventually have a picnic at an abandoned theatre.

However, these days do not last as the club receives a note threatening to out Han, Rhyme and Hakuno as trans to their parents unless the club breaks up, and so the club is forced to break up. Shortly afterwards, Hakuno's parents kick her out of the house for coming out to them, and she stays at Sumire's house for the night. Afterwards, Hakuno moves to the big city to live with her aunt, Heather Valentine, though the two of them remain in contact over text, as well as with Rhyme and Han. When the two reunite years later, Hakuno has fully transitioned, much to Sumire's joy.

NOISZ STΔRLIVHT

Chapter 0

Sumire adjusts to STΔRLIVHT's new management under Producer and Beyond after they are all provided with the NOISZ/RS to fight Noise Beasts, and Sumire grows closer to the rest of the group, despite not revealing any of her secrets to the group.

Chapter 1

In Chapter 1.II, Sumire disagrees with Sera over her handling of the new song, though is interrupted by a news update set via alert on her phone reporting that Eito Hojo, the abusive ex-boyfriend of her sister Yumi Hitori, has been released from prison on good behaviour, Sumire makes a hasty exit after the shock forces Hitori to front in her place. Hakuno follows to find Hitori instead of Sumire; Hakuno offers her support, and the two decide to wait a little bit longer to tell the rest of STΔRLIVHT about Hitori.

Hitori continues in Sumire's place in Chapter 1.III while Sumire continues talking to him in his head, teasing him about his reactions to things. However, Hitori is uncomfortable with dancing and wearing Sumire's outfit and decides not to go to practice; Hitori goes outside and encounters a Noise Beast, and Sumire syncs up with him using the NOISZ to do so. It takes a toll on them, however, and Hitori decides to go home.

A week later, Sumire has recovered and is back in control in Chapter 1.IV, and claims to not remember much of the previous week.

Chapter 2

In the wake of Firebird's attacks on serial abusers, Sumire and Grace discuss whether the vigilante's actions are justified, though are cut short by Hakuno and Sera wishing to focus on practice in Chapter 2.I.

In Chapter 2.II, Sumire comforts Hakuno after her fight with her sister Shion, and advises her on moving on from her past with her family, as well as in Chapter 2.III when Hakuno is unable to call her NOISZ to battle a Noise Beast.

Chapter 3

Hitori wakes up to an extremely concerned STΔRLIVHT in Chapter 3.I, and is forced to explain the truth about himself to the group, with Hakuno's assistance. Sera and Grace take this in stride and discuss arrangements - though, unable to hear Sumire in his head, Hitori turns down the possibility of dancing with them, and Sumire remains missing for over a week.

Hitori still struggles with the situation and the nature of his existence, however, and begins to worry about letting Sumire's friends down, so he agrees to join STΔRLIVHT's practices in Chapter 3.IV despite his discomfort. A Noise Beast attacks, and he is unable to handle it alone. He calls out to Sumire for help, and she responds, helping him defeat it.

From this point on, Hitori becomes available for normal play, and he and Sumire can use each other's styles, as well as appearing in Area Conversations.

Chapter 4

In Chapter 4.II, if Hakuno decides to act on her feelings for Sumire, she asks Sumire to hang out, and the two go on a day out together - shopping, a trip to the arcade, and eating together. If Hakuno confesses, Sumire tells her what Hakuno expects - that she isn't into girls, and can't reciprocate those feelings for Hakuno. Either way, the two decide to remain best friends.

In Chapter 4.III and Chapter 4.IV, Beyond takes STΔRLIVHT to an Antiphon lab on the outskirts of town for a "checkup" on their souls, to assess their power as NOISZ users; however, the four of them are attacked by a Noise Beast set on them by Stornel, who had been waiting for them. Feeling it calling to her, Sera dispatches it, though the appearance of Genbu, a NOISZ Beast almost identical in appearance to Grace, catches them off guard.

Before they can react after dealing with Genbu, Beyond holds a gun to Sera's head and tells STΔRLIVHT to enter a nearby machine; they do, and everything goes black.

Later on that day, STΔRLIVHT return to the office, and inform Producer that the checkup was uneventful; like getting a checkup at an ordinary doctor's practice.

Chapter 5

STΔRLIVHT is faced with a new challenge in Chapter 5.I: the Clash of Twilight, a competition between SUNRaiSE and STΔRLIVHT, composed of a series of musical performances culminating in a joint performance, with mini-polls at each stop; whoever loses the polls overall is forced to disband. However, in Chapter 5.III, Hakuno's father Yashiro outs her as trans to the press in order to turn things around for SUNRaiSE, and a furious Sumire screams her frustrations into the sky in conceptual time, though Hakuno assures Sumire that her friendship is all she needs, and the two hug.

At the final show of the Clash of Twilight in Chaper 5.IV, shining brighter than ever before, STΔRLIVHT put on the performance of their lives with and against SUNRaiSE. STΔRLIVHT lose, and afterwards, they head to the Antiphon Building basement for the final battle with Gaius Antiphon.

Chapter 6

Sumire and the rest of STΔRLIVHT face off in one final battle against Gaius Antiphon and his bodyguard, Stornel in the basement of the Antiphon Building - in front of the portal to the World of Music. While they appear to be successful, several swords emerge from the smoke, flying in Sera's direction; Grace pushes Sera out of the way and is impaled, dying in Sera's arms. A young Gaius steps out of the portal in front of them, and along with Sera, Sumire vows to kill Gaius as many times as it takes to defeat him as Chapter 6 ends.

NOISZ STΔRLIVHT True Heroes

Chapter 5 (TH)

In Chapter 5.I of True Heroes, Sumire is called in with the rest of STΔRLIVHT by Producer about how Beyond plans to have them fight and defeat Gaius Antiphon. While she and Grace are willing to fight, Hakuno and Sera refuse, leaving to continue practicing for the Clash of Twilight.

In [[NOISZ STΔRLIVHT/Story/Chapter 5.II (True Heroes)|Chapter 5.II), Hakuno discusses what she'd discovered in Producer's office with Sumire. Grace interrupts to ask what they're talking about, but Sumire tells her it's secret. As she and Hakuno leave the changing room, the two discuss how Hakuno feels like she's falling behind in finding love, seeing how quickly Grace and Sera had found each other.

Sumire assures her she doesn't have to worry, as she'll find someone she likes in time. Hakuno admits she's afraid she'll die before she has the chance due to what the group is caught up in, but Sumire tells Hakuno she won't let that happen.

In Chapter 5.III, Sumire goes to Producer's office and asks to speak with Beyond. Producer agrees, dialing Beyond on her phone, but Sumire snatches the phone out of her hands, surmising that the phone is merely a prop to allow "Beyond" to switch or speak with Producer.

"Beyond" herself confirms this, now fronting, and introduces herself as Arietta. Sumire asks her if there's anything they need to know about confronting Gaius. Arietta tells her that all of the preparations are complete, and that when the group goes to fight him, they need to bring Producer with them.

Sumire agrees, but asks why Arietta would do all of this, to which Arietta answers that her dream is to create the ultimate music. Arietta then asks Sumire not to tell the others about her, as if Producer realizes who she is, they will all die. Sumire agrees, but asks one last question about herself: Who is Firebird?

Producer calls Sumire to her office to discuss Yashiro's outing of Hakuno. Sumire assures Producer she'll break the news to Hakuno, and heads outside. She enters conceptual time and screams out her anger about the situation. Hitori attempts to calm her down, but Sumire refuses to back down. As they argue, Hitori warns her of a Noise Beast attack. Sumire narrowly dodges an attack, and links with the others to take it down.

After the fight, Sumire asks Hitori why he wants to stop her. Hitori admits he's afraid of dying-the boundary between the two has been blurring, and Hitori is afraid that if Sumire accepts that anger as part of herself, he'll disappear. Sumire apologizes, as she hadn't realized it was happening, and assures Hitori they're more then complete together. They then decide to figure out how to tell Hakuno about her forced outing, though Sumire notes that "another her" may not be as patient.

In Chapter -1.III, Sumire appears alongside Hitori after Joker's confrontation with Suzaku. The two assure Joker that she isn't Arietta, and that Arietta isn't the kind of person who'd lead them all to die.

Chapter VS

In VS Postlude, Sumire stumbles into Producer's office alongside the rest of STΔRLIVHT, exhausted from the previous night's events. As Sumire is unable to remember the previous night, Hakuno helps explain what happened. Sumire admits she feels bad for what happened, but the others reassure her, with Hakuno telling her she's glad she met Firebird. Producer notes their link data has gotten stronger, and gives the girls the rest of the day off. Sumire goes off to have a nap, and offers to help brainstorm for the fight against Gaius afterwards.

Later, as the group go over their choreography, Sumire asks Hakuno how Shion has been regarding the apartment fire. Hakuno says Shion is fine, having stayed with her and Heather that night.

Like she promised, Sumire is helping Producer go over what she and Beyond have on defeating Gaius Antiphon. Producer explains they've been scraping data from R&D and have an idea of what he'll be bringing to the fight. However, according to Beyond's data, Gaius has been seen with several test tubes on his belt, and she and Producer suspect they're filled with human souls. Unfortunately, neither of them know what exactly they're for, but knowing how the NOISZ works, he could likely use them to power up the NOISZ.

Sumire, remembering Arietta's request, asks Producer to come down with them to the final fight, suggesting she could upgrade her wheelchair. Producer agrees, and Sumire begins to feel as if they might be able to win this fight.

Later, Yumi greets Sumire as she returns home from practice. Sumire briefly teases her about staying the night with Asuka, though Yumi says the two aren't officially dating yet. Yumi admits she wasn't sure if anyone would want her in her current state, and is worried she can't give Asuka the love she wants after she waited for so long. Sumire, understanding the feeling, tells Yumi that no matter what, she can at least give Asuka the love she has now, and tells her she deserves the good in her life now. Yumi tells her she deserves the same, but Sumire muses she's already happy with what she has now.

Yumi then asks Sumire why she says she's straight, despite never showing interest in other boys. Sumire says that while she isn't interested in girls, she still thinks there's someone out there for her. Yumi assures her that her prince is out there. Sumire thinks to herself that, even if that isn't true, she'd be fine with that, and lets herself dream of it regardless.

At the final show, Sumire reflects on how far the group has come with the others. STΔRLIVHT performs their group chant and perform their last show for the Clash of Twilight.

After the show, STΔRLIVHT crowds together with Producer in her office to wait for the final results, with Sumire bringing a batch of cookies for the event. When the results come in, showing the event ended in a perfect tie, the group decide to celebrate the result.

Chapter 6 (TH)

The day before the final fight, Producer notices the artificial Noise Beasts have all been shut down. STΔRLIVHT, taking it as a sign that Gaius is inviting them to finish this, decide to fight him the next day, bringing Producer with them.

As the group travel down to the hidden Antiphon basement, Sumire muses on the idea of a "hero", thinking of that kind of responsibility as a curse. She admits she wishes she could throw it away, but is unable to stop herself from wanting to help. Sumire wonders if the persona of "Sumire" is a wish to live an ordinary life, but concludes she's not very good at it, as she knows there's nowhere she'd be but here.

The group arrive to see Gaius finishing the device that will separate the World of Music from the human world forever. Gaius orders Stornel to fight the group, and Sumire and Hakuno step up to fight him.

After the fight, Gaius takes the NOISZ from Stornel and fights Grace and Sera.

As Sera seemingly finishes Gaius off, Producer warns that he isn't dead yet. Gaius then emerges from the smoke, revealing the NOISZ's greatest power: Imprinting. He reveals that the souls on his belt are what he uses to fuel the power, having taken them from citizens of Neo Metro who signed away their lives for healthcare.

Enraged, STΔRLIVHT swears to defeat him, but are all exhausted from the fight. Grace attempts to buy time for them to recover, and Producer calls out to the group to link with her as she fights Gaius herself.

Producer is defeated, and the pain of Gaius' attack spreads to the rest of STΔRLIVHT. Despite this, Grace struggles back up and begins deflecting his attacks again. Ultimately, though, she is unable to keep deflecting, and is killed by six blades impaling her as Producer unleashes the Final Burst.

As Grace resurrects herself as a NOISZ Beast and Joker warns the group that Gaius has been possessed by the Void Crystal in the NOISZ, the group all resolve to help Grace and Joker defeat Gaius for good, despite the risk of being exposed to Grace's NOISZ Beast aura.

After Gaius' defeat, Joker congratulates the group, but warns them their fight isn't over yet; in two years, Alpha will fake her defeat and escape. In order to defeat her once and for all, STΔRLIVHT will need to fake their deaths and go into hiding for those two years. STΔRLIVHT agrees to do it, and Joker explains they'll be placed into medical stasis for those two years to keep them in top shape and heal off any damage from Grace's NOISZ Beast aura, though Grace offers to stay awake in-case something happens. The group then leave the building and head to an auto-car planned ahead of time, where Sumire tells Yumi she'll be traveling for the next two years to do some soul-searching.

At the stasis chamber, the group hold an impromptu wedding for Grace and Sera before being put to sleep.

NOISZ Final

As Sumire is awakened with the rest of STΔRLIVHT, she and Hakuno immediately recognize the main character as Han, though they correct they go by a different name now. Regardless, the three are happy to reunite, with Sumire suggesting they bring back the Flaming Pride Friendship Squad to show the main character around the city.
