Story

The chapter begins with the speaker recounting part of the Hitori family's history, recounting their parents dying in an accident and the surviving siblings being sent to live with their grandmother. They then recall the "accident" in which they witnessed Eito Hojo assaulted their sister Yumi as she tells them to run, leaving her in a wheelchair. The speaker laments a "family curse", and of not being strong enough to protect their happiness, leading to it crumbling away every time.

Hitori wakes up from this dream with tears on his face. He gets dressed for the day in his own outfit and Sumire speaks to him inside their shared consciousness; she reminds him of STΔRLIVHT's practice, though Hitori refuses to do it, being uncomfortable with the outfit Sumire usually wears for practice. He decides to skip practice for the day and Sumire protests - as a compromise, Hitori says he'll head over to tell them Sumire is sick as he prepares breakfast and greets Yumi, who offers her support - though Hitori brushes it off.

Hitori heads out for the day, though Sumire chides him for being mean to Yumi and teases him for being "tsundere" before a Noise Beast suddenly attacks. Sumire and Hitori panic, though eventually decide to sync up with each other using the NOISZ/RS to defeat it.

Taking on a Noise Beast takes its toll on Hitori and Sumire's body, however, and he stumbles. Logged in as Sumire, he tells the rest of STΔRLIVHT that he had to fight a Noise Beast alone, and that "Sumire" is too tired to practice, deciding to go back home to rest instead.

Chapter 1.III's song is Sulyvahn, as Hitori in his BLACKHEART style; note that Hitori has a different NOISZ Burst to Sumire, and activating it will raise his ATK while continuously lowering his HP, so be careful using it; take note that it can be deactivated by using the standard NOISZ Burst activation gesture.
