Story

Back in the world of the past, Joker has returned from her insertion into the simulated world. She knows it was risky, and that Beyond will be upset with her for it, but has no regrets being able to see her friends in person again. Despite this, the story does not continue, as Genbu stands before her. Joker now understands the true nature of the NOISZ Beasts she faced; they were not vengeful spirits, but the locks she placed to hide the truth from the world and herself. Joker demands she be allowed past, but Genbu refuses, telling her she will decide if she is ready, and tells Joker to show her how strong she really is.

After the fight, Grace appears and assures her she had always been strong-willed enough to move ahead. Joker understands now that she'd hidden the truth so she could relive her days with STΔRLIVHT without facing the unknown future ahead. She admits that she has some idea of what she's about to find, but Grace reassures her that once she says goodbye to the past, she'll have a chance to meet them again in the future. Joker admits she doesn't know if she or her friends are alive, but resolves to end the cycles so that she can see her real friends again.

While they couldn't get the NOISZ/RS ready for the HI-LIVE attack, Remora was still able to save STΔRLIVHT with her own recombinant model. With this, Arietta is now confident her vision was true and the girls can defeat Gaius, but is dissatisfied with the outcome afterwards; Alpha will fake her death with the piece of herself in the original NOISZ. Remora notes that, now that they know this, they can use the RS model to kill her instead. Arietta points out two flaws with this plan: the first being that the Final Burst will have to be used to defeat Gaius, and reanimating any of the girls as NOISZ Beasts will poison the connection the RS uses. The second issue is Alpha: once she is active again she'll be able to read Arietta's mind, and will most likely erase their memories of this event and move to kill STΔRLIVHT herself.

Remora states that, regardless, the RS is their best bet to defeat her, even if she can read Arietta's mind, and they won't remember what happened after they defeat Gaius. Arietta begins to think; while they can't add memories, they can remove them in a targeted fashion, allowing them to make it seem as if STΔRLIVHT died in their fight against Gaius, and that they hadn't witnessed the outcome. With Antiphon's line of human-like robots, they can create fake NOISZ Beasts to further sell the illusion, as the AI can be written to act as NOISZ Beasts and be given fake backstories. This still leaves one issue: the NOISZ/RS consumption rate will be too high with less then four people, and it is highly unlikely they can defeat Gaius without the Final Burst. Arietta comes up with an idea; she asks Remora to give her a fifth copy of the RS. Remora tells her, as nice as she can, that she doubts that Arietta can form the bond they need to make this plan work, but Arietta believes that "she" can.

Arietta speaks to Joker, asking her if she would take her place in the real world as a real person for one year. She would have real connections, real friends, and a real purpose-but at the end of that year, she would die. Joker accepts, knowing about the current situation, and wanting to know what it would be like to be a real person. Arietta, unsurprised, moves to begin their plan, telling Joker she'll have to forget everything to ensure the bonds she makes are real. Joker notes they won't be able to talk like this again, which Arietta confirms, but she says she'll be happy to meet her again as Producer.
