Hakuno's aunt, a bestselling author of YA queer romance novels. Everyone either considers her work to be cringey or absolute masterpieces, but nobody can deny their impact on representation in popular culture. Like Hakuno, she's an outcast from her rather conservative family.[1]

A famed YA novelist, Heather Valentine's queer romance works are both widely beloved and hated. There's no explicit content, but she's penned several of the steamiest gay kissing scenes ever written. Sera owns every one of her books.[2]

The series of young adult novels that catapulted Heather to fame, Moonlit Nights, is about a werewolf and a vampire clashing over the love of a human girl, and falling in love with each other instead; to many, it is an outrageous plot twist, though remains popular with many.[3]

Heather appears at the end of Chapter 3.I, when Hakuno visits her, to find out Heather has taken on a new intern: Rhyme.

She would appear again in True Heroes in VS Postlude, telling Hakuno to take a break from her idol practice. When Hakuno brings up her own work schedule, Heather says she doesn't want Hakuno to end up like her, admitting that her own work schedule is messing her up.

In Chapter 6.IV, Hakuno tells her aunt she'll be traveling for the next two years.

History

Hakuno moved in with Heather after being kicked out by her parents for being trans.

Heather appears to be estranged from her sister, Hakuno's mother.
