  • Hitori is Sumire Hitori's brother, who is an alter in her body. He has Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), with Sumire as the main "host". He is best friends with Hakuno Nekoda. Unlike his sister Sumire, Hitori does not find it so easy to open up to others and can come off as a bit more abrasive. As a trans boy, he dislikes wearing Sumire's comparatively more feminine outfits.

Hitori often struggles with the nature of his own existence, and he tries to avoid getting in Sumire's way as much as possible. He shares Sumire's strong sense of justice and willingness to help out the members of STΔRLIVHT wherever he can, even if it means filling in for her, occasionally.

He is very protective of Sumire and tends to front when she is most vulnerable or distressed.

    NOISZ STΔRLIVHT

    Chapter 1

Hitori first appears in Chapter 1.II; after setting an alert for it on Sumire's phone, a news update reports that Eito Hojo, the abusive ex-boyfriend of Yumi Hitori, has been released from prison on good behavior. Sumire makes a hasty exit after the shock forces Hitori to front in her place. Hakuno follows to find Hitori instead of Sumire; Hakuno offers her support, and the two decide to wait a little bit longer to tell the rest of STΔRLIVHT about Hitori.

He continues in Sumire's place in Chapter 1.III. Uncomfortable with the concept of wearing Sumire's STΔRLIVHT outfit and having to explain the truth about Sumire's DID to the rest of the group, he skips practice and encounters a Noise Beast. He syncs up with Sumire using the NOISZ to defeat it, though this takes its toll on them and Hitori heads home, telling the others that "Sumire" is exhausted from fighting the Noise Beast alone.

A week later, Sumire has recovered and is back in control.

    Chapter 3

Hitori wakes up to an extremely concerned STΔRLIVHT in Chapter 3.I, and is forced to explain the truth about himself to the group, with Hakuno's assistance. Sera and Grace take this in stride and discuss how this will affect the group as Hitori realizes he can't hear Sumire.

After another Noise Beast attack, Hakuno walks Hitori back home after practice. The next day, Hitori begins helping Producer around the office, feeling bad for Sumire's disappearance. He asks Producer if he can use the incinerator, saying he likes to burn things as a hobby.

Depending on the player's choices, Hakuno may opt to check up on Hitori in Chapter 3.II, alongside Rhyme if they were invited, and Hitori forgets his worries for a while.

Hitori still struggles with the situation and the nature of his existence, however, and begins to worry about letting Sumire's friends down. He attempts to wear Sumire's idol outfit, but is unable to bear wearing it and throws it off. Later, he agrees to join STΔRLIVHT's practices in Chapter 3.IV despite his discomfort. As he once again begins to deny his existence, A Noise Beast attacks. Feeling it call to him, he attempts to fight it on his own, but fails. Realizing that by he's become weak by denying himself, he calls out to Sumire, telling her they'll face this together like they always have, and she responds, waking up and defeating it together.

From this point on, Hitori becomes available for normal play, and he and Sumire can use each other's styles. He will also start appearing in Area Conversations.

    Chapter 4

If enough of a bond has been built up with Hitori over the playthrough, Hakuno may ask him on a date/hangout. When the day comes, however, he is not present, with Sumire fronting instead. After Sumire and Hakuno hang out, Sumire falls asleep, and Hitori is present when he awakes, remembering the day's events. Hakuno tells him to ask her out next time he's around and the two get ice cream together.

    NOISZ STΔRLIVHT True Heroes

    Chapter 5 (TH)

In Chapter 5.III of True Heroes, Hitori attempts to calm Sumire down from her rage at seeing Yashiro out Hakuno. He tells Sumire to leave this rage to him, fearing that Sumire will lose herself to her anger, but Sumire refuses. As they agrue, Hitori suddenly warns Sumire of a Noise Beast attack.

After defeating the Noise Beast, Hitori admits he's afraid of dying if Sumire accepts this anger as part of her as the boundary between them becomes weaker. Sumire apologizes, not having noticed what was happening, and assures him they're more complete together. The two decide to figure out how to break the news to Hakuno together.

In Chapter -1.III, Hitori appears alongside Sumire after Joker defeats Suzaku. The two assure her that she isn't Arietta, and that Arietta may not even be a person who would let STΔRLIVHT die.

    Chapter VS

    History

When Sumire's former friends in middle school, Rise and Ai, berated Hakuno, Sumire stepped in to defend Hakuno. In NOISZ STΔRLIVHT Chapter 3.II, Hitori states that he was the one to yell at Sumire's friends and slam them into a locker.
