Each character has their own respective items, with the exception of Sumire and Hitori, who share items and styles. Items are used to perform Ignition or to respec upgrade points. Items are dropped upon completing a song, and playing in Challenge Mode and spending COINZ will award additional items. In event folders, items are not rewarded - instead, Crowns are dropped upon clearing songs and reaching an event-specific criteria.
Completing a song awards items based on the Damage Overflow and TP achieved:
- The type of the item is dependent on which character the song was played as and which folder the song is in.
- Like Bond EXP, if you play as a character from a different folder, the drops would split between the two types. For example, if you played Werewolf Queen as Sera, you would obtain both Jadeite and Diamond items.
- The tier of the item is dependent on the PW of the chart. The higher the PW, the more higher tier items are likely to drop.
- It is theoretically possible to get any item on any chart, but the odds for high tier items are extremely low on charts with low PW.
- The amount of items is dependent on the PW, difficulty level (ie. the number) and length of the chart. The higher these are, the more items are likely to drop.
There are five kinds of item material, and four tiers of item.

Items are used to perform Ignition or to respec upgrade points; to perform Ignition, you need 44 items of the corresponding character and tier. For example, if you want to perform Ignition on a style of Sera into Tier 1 (level cap 10 -> 20), then you need Sera's Tier 1 item: 44 Diamond Dusts.
To respec upgrade points, you need 22 items of the corresponding character, of the same numbered tier as however many upgrade points you have spent. For example, if you want to respec a style of Sera that has had 2 upgrade points spent, then you need Sera's Tier 2 item: 22 Diamond Bits.
- The exception is if 5 upgrade points have been spent. As there is no Tier 5 item, you simply need 22 Tier 4 items of the corresponding idol.
Special Items
Certain items below can also be used to perform Ignition.
Crowns
Crowns are earned in Recursive and Ephemeral events by completing challenges, listed by the difficulty select in the event folder. In order to perform Ignition, four Crowns of the current tier are required. More than four Crowns can be obtained at a time, but once Ignition is performed, they are converted at the rate of four items for every Crown at the same item tier as said Crown(s).
Void Crowns
Void Crowns can only be earned through specific methods:
- Clearing story chapters.
- Chapters -1.I through -1.IV reward you with 11 Void Crowns each, and VS Postlude gives 22 Void Crowns.
- Through Joker STΔRLIVHT STΔFF V-IGNITION.
- Through Hall of Flame.
- Clearing Forged In Darkest Abyss or ⠀ in Forge of Antiphon (see table below).
- Through Convergent Events (no longer available).
- Through Glitch Data (not yet released).
This table describes the amount of Void Crowns obtained by clearing Forged In Darkest Abyss or ⠀ in Forge of Antiphon. Denying an evolution to the Heart of the Challenger Module will earn you 4 times the amount. A clear on a Dummy Plug run has the same effect as denying the evolution, since the Heart will not evolve with this option enabled.
Difficulty | Void Crowns | Void Crowns if evolution denied (x4) |
---|---|---|
Easy | 1 | 4 |
Normal | 2 | 8 |
Hard | 4 | 16 |
Overload | 8 | 32 |
Void Crowns are used to perform V-IGNITION, which allows certain Styles to reach level 50 and gain permanent upgrades to their Style Abilities, save for Antiphon Armament (who reaches Level 50 through clearing Forged in Darkest Abyss) and STΔRLIVHT STAGE+STΔFF (who perform V-IGNITION through Queen's Ascension). V-IGNITION requires 22 Void Crowns to perform.
Void Crowns are also spent to use Glitched Catalyst, allowing you to skip to Iteration 9 in Forge of Antiphon using your current Armament. The amount of Void Crowns needed depends on the difficulty being played.
Void Crowns are displayed on the Items screen, next to the Incinerate button.
Kibble
After clearing Chapter 2.IV, spending free COINZ on plays will yield kibble, an item used exclusively in 𝑉𝑖𝑟𝑡𝑢𝑎𝑙 𝑊ℎ𝑎𝑡.
Kibble is used to grow your very own What, and obtain colourful hats depending on the colour of the kibble.
Kibble appears as a separate entry from the rest of the obtainable items on the results screen, as a bonus.
Tokens
Tokens are a special currency introduced in Convergent Events, where it was used to obtain prizes within the mode, as well as deciding which team won the Convergent Event. These events did not include Joker Tokens.
Tokens are now awarded for clearing the corresponding regular trial in Queen's Ascension for the first time. This clear yields 2222 tokens, counted separately from those obtained during the Convergent Event, and are used as material for STΔRLIVHT STΔGE and STΔFF V-IGNITIONS.
Convergent Event 01 | Clover Token | |
---|---|---|
Diamond Token | ||
Convergent Event 02 | Heart Token | |
Spade Token | ||
Queen's Ascension | Joker Token |
Because you were forced to pick a team in Convergent Events, you would only receive one type of token per event. For instance, if you picked Grace in Convergent Event 01, you were not able to get any Diamond Tokens.
During Convergent Events, tokens were obtained as a reward from playing songs in the event folder. However, instead of TP, a different metric called GP was used to award tokens; see Convergent Event page for more details.
Incineration
Items can be incinerated in the Style Lab to yield Ashes, which can be used to unlock Lost Data (located in the Story section), as well as unlocking specific Titles.
Ashes can also be obtained through Forge of Antiphon and 𝑉𝑖𝑟𝑡𝑢𝑎𝑙 𝑊ℎ𝑎𝑡.
Ashes are displayed on the Items screen, next to the Incinerate button.
Each incinerated item gives a different amount of ashes, according to its tier:
Item Tier | Ashes obtained |
---|---|
Tier 1 | 1 |
Tier 2 | 2 |
Tier 3 | 4 |
Tier 4 | 8 |
Hall of Flame
Hall of Flame is a reward system that can be seen when incinerating items. It grants rewards such as Void Crowns once you reach a milestone of Incinerating 2222 of a single type of item. There is a milestone for each type of item.
Each stack of 2222 incinerated items gives a different amount of Void Crowns, according to its tier:
Item Tier | Void Crowns obtained |
---|---|
Tier 1 | 2 |
Tier 2 | 4 |
Tier 3 | 8 |
Tier 4 | 16 |
Note that these prizes can only be claimed once.
