See Forge of Antiphon Builds for Antiphon Armament builds.
This page describes some general ideas for building styles in NOISZ STΔRLIVHT. These builds are not set in stone, but rather the ones most commonly used by players. This page aims to give some direction, especially for newer players, on where to spend the stat points when building a style.
Due to their numerous unique mechanics, this page does not cover the Antiphon Armament styles and will be mostly excluding them from discussion.
General advice
- Ignore PW unless the chart you are trying to play has more PW than your style, giving you penalties.
- Due to the nature of stats, a style can only be built mostly for a single purpose. Certain styles can be suited for several, but probably not at the same time- a respec might be needed to properly rebuild the style.
For survival
- HP should be the main stat to prioritize, because it allows for more errors. Any individual point into HP helps, especially if you can access the B or SS perks.
- B HP perk: Fully heal between Verses, instead of 30%.
- SS HP perk: Survive with 1 HP when hit if HP > 1. If you get hit again, you die.
- Note that this perk can only activate 2 times per verse, meaning styles with healing that can access this cannot use it infinitely.
- TEC should be the second stat to focus on. This stat should be built with the intent of reducing the error judgment window. D through B TEC have the same error window, as well as A through S TEC, so unless you can get to A, you should keep it as D. If the style allows for it, SS and SS+ do reduce the error window as well. Depending on the chart, the AA TEC perk is welcome, but it is not required.
- AA TEC perk: Hold vertices gain a wider timing window; makes them easier to hit.
- SPC highly depends on the character's Burst. For survival, only the perks of this stat are important. The B perk is generally a good idea, but the utility of the AA and SS perks varies depending on the character's Burst.
- B SPC perk: Regain Burst at end of each Verse, instead of 1 Burst total.
- AA SPC perk: Bursts are more effective.
- SS SPC perk: Doubled Burst duration; for example, Hakuno's burst will last 32 beats instead of 16.
- ATK should be ignored as long as it is D or higher.
For accuracy
- When building for SS+ grades, all stat points should go into TEC, because every single TEC point increases the S-Radiant window.
- When building for S grades (getting Verse stars), TEC should be built with the same criteria as for survival. Aim for AA, SS or SS+, and avoid S because it does not reduce the error window.
- SPC and ATK follow the same criteria as for survival.
- HP should be ignored, especially on builds for SS+ grades where it can perfectly be F HP (we are trying to avoid errors anyway).
For damage
- While all styles can technically focus on damage, it makes the most sense to do it if the style ability and/or Burst can produce large damage numbers.
- ATK should be the main stat to prioritize. If the style can access the SS ATK perk, some points into SPC may be saved depending on the character's Burst.
- SS ATK perk: While Burst is active, OK notes deal damage as if SPC is ATK (ie. SPC becomes SS); does not activate perks.
- Note the wording in the perk. If ATK is SS+, SPC will also become SS+.
- Note this also only applies to OK damage, and does not affect how effective your burst is.
- SS ATK perk: While Burst is active, OK notes deal damage as if SPC is ATK (ie. SPC becomes SS); does not activate perks.
- The B and AA ATK perks make it so overflow and Verse stars give a higher damage multiplier. Therefore, stat points could be spent on TEC to help keep the Verse star.
- Overflow, no star: x1.25 (< B ATK), x1.35 (≥ B ATK).
- Silver star: x1.5 (≥ AA ATK).
- Gold star: x1.6 (≥ AA ATK).
- No overflow, gold star: x1.25 (≥ AA ATK).
- Only possible with Blue Moon Sera and Blue Moon Grace after V-IGNITION.
- SPC is also important, because of the damage multiplier to OK damage, but also because of the perks depending on the character's Burst.
- If the style can access the SS TEC perk, some points into ATK and SPC may be saved.
- SS TEC perk: Sets ATK and SPC to TEC with a Gold Star (ie. ATK and SPC become SS); note this does not activate perks.
- Like the SS ATK perk, if TEC is SS+, ATK and SPC will also become SS+.
- SS TEC perk: Sets ATK and SPC to TEC with a Gold Star (ie. ATK and SPC become SS); note this does not activate perks.
- HP should be ignored, unless you can get to AA HP for the perk.
- AA HP perk: Deal extra damage based on HP; 0.1x per 1%, 10x max.
- If you can, B TEC is nice to have for the increase to Spark and Radiant damage, but isn't necessary if the points are more needed elsewhere.
For Duel Gauge
- All Duel Gauge songs are locked to each character's respective STΔRLIVHT STΔGE; as such this part will be written with the STΔRLIVHT STΔGE styles' base stats in mind.
- When building for Duel Gauge, you'll be building very similarly to building for damage since the mechanic heavily relies on dealing enough damage to clear the verse. However, HP is not entirely useless here since it can reduce the damage you take, as well as increase how much of that damage is recoverable (see Gameplay/Duel Gauge for more detailed info)
- Keep in mind when building for ATK and SPC that the effects of both stats' contribution to damage are reduced in Duel Gauge. Nonetheless, building for them is still crucial for clearing (see Gameplay/Detailed Information for more info).
- ATK should be prioritized and at least AA; while the perks aren't as useful in Duel Gauge, dealing damage is still needed for clearing, and AA ATK gives good damage for both normal and OK damage. B ATK perk can also help in securing a clear, as once active it stays active for the entire verse, even if you are hit out of overflow.
- SPC should also be prioritized for increased OK damage and burst effectiveness, especially with offensive bursts. AA is recommended for most builds if your character burst can benefit from the perk. Also note burst damage is not affected by the reduction to OK damage based on SPC.
- Though the AA HP perk works differently in Duel Gauge, it's still worth building towards if your style doesn't already have it.
- In Duel Gauge, AA HP increases your damage based on gauge progress, up to 10% on full gauge.
- TEC doesn't need to be upgraded past base if you aren't going for SS+, as A is enough since you get both the B perk and minimization of the error window here.
- While Sera and Grace's STΔRLIVHT STΔGE styles can go higher, and both have base AA TEC by the time you unlock Duel Gauge songs, it's better to put those points into ATK or SPC, as SS TEC's perk isn't as useful here for damage dealing.
Which V-IGNITIONs should I get first?
Certain styles allow for more levels after reaching level 44 by using a feature called V-IGNITION. This changes the style's ability permanently, while also giving an extra stat point when reaching level 50 and a significant PW bonus. 22 Void Crowns are used for performing a V-IGNITION, except for the STΔRLIVHT STΔGE and STΔRLIVHT STΔFF styles which are unlocked through a separate mode called Queen's Ascension. Check the page on V-IGNITIONs for more details.
V-IGNITIONs are mostly used for high end content, due to the high PW requirement (especially in Joker folder).
Because Void Crowns are resources that are hard to come by, it can be difficult to decide which V-IGNITIONs to get first. This section aims to give some guidance on this particular topic. Keep in mind however, all V-IGNITIONs are incredibly powerful, so there is no wrong choice.
In order of rough priority, these are the recommended styles to V-IGNITE first:

Specific styles
Grace
Due to her Burst, Grace's styles mostly excel in survival or accuracy scenarios. Because of her auto-burst, B SPC is strongly recommended, or even AA SPC for double duration due to the perk, especially for getting Verse stars.
STΔRLIVHT STΔGE
One of the strongest survival styles, STΔRLIVHT STAGE gives Grace a full HP revive per song on taking lethal damage and doubles her burst charges on V-IGNITION. She can also function as an accuracy-focused style since she can reach SS+ TEC after completing Chapter 5.4, and her Bursts can be incredibly useful for maintaining gold stars (moreso if used manually on parts high in note density). Combined with her high PW after V-IGNITION, this allows Grace's STΔRLIVHT STΔGE to be useful both in and out of folder.
Completing Chapter 5.4 gives +1 TEC, giving STΔRLIVHT STΔGE base AA TEC, and uncaps the TEC stat.
For any build, at least B SPC is recommended to take advantage of her double burst charge.
For survival, V-Stage should focus on high HP, with additional focus on either TEC or SPC depending on player preference:
- HP: SS+.
- TEC: SS.
- SPC: B.
Or
- HP: SS+.
- SPC: AA.
For Verse star builds, her focus will be on high TEC (at least SS) and AA SPC to increase her Burst duration:
- TEC: SS+.
- SPC: AA.
Attitude Mint
Attitude Mint can work very well for either survival or for getting Verse stars, due to her well rounded base stats. After V-IGNITION, she becomes even more powerful in both these scenarios, thanks to her increased PW and improved ability.
For survival, V-Mint can be built exclusively focusing on HP. Her 40% note damage reduction helps a lot in this regard:
- HP: SS.
- 3 points into PW, bringing her to 825 PW.
Or:
- HP: SS+.
- 2 points into PW, bringing her to 750 PW.
For Verse stars, her build focuses on SPC and TEC. 2 errors per Verse converted to sparks helps with obtaining S grades:
- SPC: AA, for getting the perk and doubling her Burst duration.
- TEC: A, for minimizing the error window. Because of V-Mint's style ability, she is not well suited for obtaining SS+ grades, so increasing her S-Radiant window is not recommended.
- 3 points into PW, bringing her to 825 PW.
Blue Moon (Grace)
Blue Moon Grace is a versatile style with many utilities, able to serve as a damage, accuracy, or general survival style depending on the build. This utility, however, is locked behind V-IGNITON, as it is when this style gets access to it's powerful abilities.
For damage, Blue Moon (Grace) should focus on TEC and ATK:
- TEC: S, as sadly this style cannot go to SS TEC.
- ATK: AA, for the perk. While G-Radiants will be the bulk of your damage, the damage bonus from this perk is still valuable.
- Last two points should go into either AA HP (for damage perk) or AA SPC (for extending burst+more OK damage).
For accuracy, you'll build very similarly:
- TEC: S, as her style ability makes her well suited for SS+ grades.
- SPC: AA, to extend Grace's burst.
- Last 2 points into PW, bringing her to 800 PW.
For survival, there are several options depending on preference:
- HP: Can go up to SS+ on preference; otherwise put the rest of your points here when you put your desired amount of points into other stats.
- TEC: Can go past A for increased G-Radiant window; note that while the healing can be useful for some clears, it still might not be worth putting extra points in for.
- SPC: AA, as Grace's burst has incredible defensive value, but these points can be put into HP depending on preference.
Sera
Sera's playstyle is built around high accuracy plays, often aiming for getting and maintaining gold verse stars to hit her maximum potential. Her Burst reflects this best, turning S-Radiants you score into huge damage. Her Burst also has defensive capabilities when at AA SPC, allowing her to automatically hit slash notes.
STΔRLIVHT STΔGE
While Sera's STΔRLIVHT STΔGE does not truly shine until V-IGNITION, it is well worth the investment as it is a highly flexible style that can do just about anything thanks to its upgraded style abilities. Since you will always have at least one SS+ stat depending on what folder you bring her into, alongside her healing and damage she deals with G-Radiants, she can act as either a powerful attacker or a strong defense that is still capable of dealing heavy damage. Alongside her high PW allowing her to take on songs out of folder with little to no worry about stat penalties, there is little this style is not able to do.
As V-Sera, G-Radiants deal flat 1% damage to the boss and completely ignores all penalties and perks from stats. Most of the damage output will come from G-Radiants, so it is a good idea to focus on TEC to maximize the G-Rad window. G-Radiants also heal you back a little, but it is not as significant as the damage they deal. Because of this, on charts with a lot of notes, this style excels at damage with an improved chance for survival.
Completing Chapter 5.4 gives +1 HP, bringing her to base AA HP, and uncaps HP.
Building for this style can be somewhat complex, as you will often want to respec her stats depending on what folder you are in and whether you want to build towards damage or defense. Typically, you will want to build some variation around AA stats all around and adjust as you see fit depending on the folder you are playing in. You will also want to put points into TEC to increase the window for G-Radiants, especially for damage builds.
Blue Moon
While she is already pretty good by default for obtaining SS+ grades due to her ability to transform 1 Spark/Radiant into an S-Radiant once per Verse, she becomes even better after V-IGNITION. With access to SS+ TEC and an additional Spark/Radiant conversion, V-Blue Moon becomes one of the nominal styles for achieving 100 TP.
Additionally, V-Blue Moon is also able to deal moderate damage due to her unique ability to start Verses with a Gold Star, allowing her to Overflow faster than other styles. This ability becomes extra powerful when combined with the SS TEC perk, allowing her to deal damage as if she had SS/SS+ ATK and SPC.
DRAGON MAIDEN
One of the most unique damage dealing styles, DRAGON MAIDEN requires you to know when to burst for maximum damage to get the most out of her. Typically, you'll want to save your burst for any high density bullet sections, in which you'll want to get as close to the boss as possible to absorb as many bullets as you can. On V-IGNITION, she gains a ranged damage option in Garnet Flare, which, while dealing much less damage then the now upgraded Novi Flare, can be used as a safer way to use her unique burst.
As well, her rechargeable burst and Garnet Flare make her a surprisingly good defensive style, able to clear bullets several times with her Burst. Since her burst recharges, she's best used on songs with 1 or 2 verses, though still works well with any song. Her SPC is also high enough for her AA perk, which saves points that can be used for HP and TEC.
As a damage build, her ideal build is fairly straightforward:
- TEC: SS, for increased S-Radiant window to recharge your burst, as well as SS perk
- ATK: AA, for both perk and out of burst damage
- SPC: S, for increased burst damage
For defensive, points should be placed into HP and TEC, as she already has AA SPC for it's perk:
- HP: AA
- TEC: SS
- The last point can be placed into either TEC or HP depending on preference
Attitude Mint (Sera)
Sera's Attitude Mint, like the original, is very useful for both survival and accuracy, and becomes even more-so after V-IGNITION. Her automatic burst charges make her more viable for bullet heavy songs, as each charge can clear bullets twice due to how her Burst works.
For survival, Sera V-Mint can be built into HP and TEC, since she unfortunately cannot reach SS+ HP.
- HP:S
- TEC:SS
For accuracy, she focuses on TEC and SPC like the original:
- TEC:SS+, as her ability to convert errors to S-RADIANTS makes her more viable for obtaining SS+ ranks
- SPC: AA, for her burst perk's ability to automatically activate slash notes.
- The points into SPC can also be put into PW for charts that aren't as heavy on slash notes.
Sumire
Sumire is mostly a damage oriented character, but due to her Burst she can also be used for survival in certain cases.
STΔRLIVHT STΔGE
One of the highest damage dealing styles in the game after V-IGNITION, Sumire can hit hard at the cost of HP and taking three times more damage for the verse, making this a high risk but high reward style. Additionally, since she keeps her previous ability to burst on lethal damage if her burst is still available, she can also be built into a defense style that's very hard to take down due to her unique burst healing her to full if activated this way, letting her act as an enhanced version of her Ephmeral Style, NO NAME, for the rest of the verse. Her high PW can keep her fully powered for out of folder plays, so investment into that stat won't be needed outside of high-end content.
After clearing Chapter VS.4, this style gains +1 SPC, giving it base B SPC, and uncaps the SPC stat.
For any build, a minimum of AA SPC is essential, as healing on tapping notes is necessary for both survival and damage builds as a way to quickly regain HP and keep it up through the song.
For Damage, you should build to deal as much damage using her burst as possible:
- ATK: AA, the perk is too good to pass up if you know you can keep your verse star. If you know you can't though, A is fine if you would rather invest in AA HP and SS SPC.
- SPC: AA minimum, though you should go into at least S, or even SS if you wish, though this should be saved for songs high in OK damage. SS+ is not recommended here.
- HP: AA, as it only takes one point and the damage boost is appreciated here, though it can be sacrificed for more SPC if you wish. If you do so, you may want to take a point from ATK to put here if doing charts you know you cannot keep verse stars on.
For survival, points should be focused on HP:
- HP: S, to take full advantage of your Burst's healing on lethal damage and minimize the x3 damage drawback
- SPC: AA
- Your last two points can be placed either into PW for extremely high end content, such as Joker folder, or into SPC to increase healing from her Burst. TEC is not recommended in most cases, as she cannot decrease the error window beyond A, though AA perk could be useful for certain songs.
Crimson Heat
After V-IGNITION, Crimson Heat becomes the style with the largest S-Radiant window in the game, surpassing even SS+ TEC. Its style ability can have similar utility to Sera Blue Moon's Spark/Radiant conversion, especially for very dense note segments, being able to effectively convert infinite Radiants into S-Radiants. As such, it can work very well for getting SS+ grades.
Its recommended build is to put enough points in TEC to reach S. The remaining points could go into PW, for access to more charts.
BLACKHEART
This style becomes particularly good for survival after V-IGNITION. Even though Sumire gets a dysphoria debuff, it is only -100 PW instead of the usual -200 PW, maxing out the style at 675 PW. The recommended way to use this style is to manually Burst when you are about to Game Over, and regain health by either grazing bullets, or hitting notes with AA SPC.
Bursting sets you in a temporary auto-burst mode that you can carry over between verses. For instance, if you Burst in Verse 1 you can carry the Burst end into Verse 2, take damage to Burst, and then Burst again. This grants you a maximum of 3 Bursts (auto from previous Verse, manual, auto again) per Verse. Because of BLACKHEART's V-IGNITION ability, you also regain 66% health per Verse on Burst end, which can easily amount to more than STΔGE Grace's two health bars.
After Chapter VS.4, this style gains an extra SPC point, giving her base B SPC, and uncaps the SPC stat.
Her stats for survival should be:
- SPC: B, for getting the perk, or A, for increasing the healing during the Burst. Alternatively you can put this point into PW (becomes 750 PW).
- HP: S.
Or:
- SPC: AA, for getting both perks, allowing for healing via tap notes.
- HP: AA.
Because of the 66% heal, points could be deduced from HP into PW for more difficult charts.
NO NAME
Note that NO NAME will receive a V IGNITION sometime in the future when Hazuki Dies releases, which means this article will be rewritten in the future.
An unusual tank style that increases all damage taken by x2, but in exchange your burst will always be active even after taking damage. This means you'll always have Sumire's healing burst active, including its AA perk due to NO NAME's natural statline. However, it's PW could be an issue if taking on songs out of folder, so it's recommended to stay in folder since stat points will be better used towards HP.
Due to NO NAME's low base HP and style ability, most, if not all, of your stat points will be going into HP. A point can also be put into TEC if you wish to minimize the error window, but no more then A is needed. This point can also go into SPC, but isn't recommended as her SPC is already naturally high and already hits AA SPC.
NUCLEAR DRIP
Sumire DRIP specializes heavily on damage. Her damage output is the among the highest, outside of Forge styles or V-IGNITIONs, but it is strongly dependent on the song (not a lot of bullets, or big gaps) and requires S+ grade or higher. This, combined with her 550 max PW, makes her difficult to use in Overload charts, especially outside of Heart folder.
Her ideal build should be, in order of priority:
- SPC: A. Sumire's AA SPC perk makes her heal by hitting notes, and we want to avoid that because DRIP deals more damage the less HP you have.
- ATK: SS. Maximizes damage and grants ATK perks.
- HP: AA. This grants the AA HP perk, increasing the damage. This might seem counter intuitive, given DRIP's ability, but there is a sweet spot around 25% HP (the very tip of the second diamond) that maximizes the damage multipliers from both effects. Keep in mind however this has a very quick dropoff, so as soon as you go over 25% HP it is strongly recommended to Burst again. This is also useful for surviving a single hit and not Game Over instantly.
- TEC: Any remaining points should be put into TEC (to obtain the B TEC perk and increase the S-Radiant window), or into PW. Remember that the error window is the same for D TEC than for B TEC.
Hakuno
Hakuno is a very versatile character, mostly oriented towards survival but can also be good at getting Verse stars or dealing big damage in certain cases. Her burst works best with the SS SPC perk, which Hakuno has unlocked by default on all her styles.
STΔRLIVHT STΔGE
While Hakuno's STΔRLIVHT STΔGE is more niche compared to other STΔRLIVHT STΔGEs, even after V-IGNITION, it's still a powerful survival style since she only takes 50% of damage from all non-tap notes, along with -20% to bullet damage, making her excellent for tanking bullet sections even after using her burst. She can also retain silver verse stars after missing non-tap notes, making her ideal for going for S ranks on charts with high non-tap note counts. She also comes with STΔRLIVHT STΔGE's universal V-IGNITION effect of raising her PW based on her other style's levels, allowing her to work at full power both in and out of folder.
After clearing Chapter VS.4, this style gains +1 ATK, giving it base B ATK, and uncaps the ATK stat.
For survival, you'll want to build into SS SPC for her burst, and into HP and possibly TEC:
- HP: AA/S-depends on preference, but S is generally recommended.
- TEC:A/AA- again, depends on preference, as Hakuno already takes -50% damage from hold vertices, and she can't decrease her error judgement window past A.
- SPC: SS-Paradox Felid is the best burst for tanking bullet sections, so having it's duration doubled is heavily recommended.
Accuracy builds will be built about the same, since her ability can only preserve silver verse stars, and thus makes building for gold verse stars somewhat impractical. Along this, her ability can already preserve silver stars on missing hold vertices, making the AA TEC perk unnecessary. Extra points should instead be put into PW if doing out-of-folder charts with extremely high PW.
Stray Cat
Stray Cat acts as an all-or-nothing damage dealer, having greatly increased damage on burst when undocked, but setting all damage to 0 when docked. Her V-IGNITION also gives her another possible option as a survival style, as while she still cannot deal damage, notes she hits during her burst while docked will instead heal any missing HP. Note that you will still need to be careful using her, as it's possible to not deal enough damage to enter overflow and clear the verse, one of the few times this can happen on any style outside of Duel Gauge or having F ATK from PW penalties.
Keep in mind Stray Cat's base stats are more geared towards damage, and as such survival builds may not function as well compared to other survival focused styles.
For damage, her build is fairly straightforward:
- SPC: SS+, for increased burst damage and length
- ATK: AA, or S if you put your last point here, for increased damage
- TEC: B, if you only want the perk, or A if you want to minimize the error window
Survival is also relatively straightforward:
- SPC: SS, for double burst length perk.
- HP: A minimum, can be raised up to S, though you will need to sacrifice points in TEC to do so.
- TEC: A, to minimize the error window.
remini2cence
Although mostly overshadowed by V-Stage Haku, Remi Haku is a great accuracy style due to her high PW (on already cleared charts), high base TEC at AA, and access to SS SPC. Her strong point is mainly being able to bring Hakuno's SS SPC Burst to songs outside of Spade folder, making her a great alternative to V-Haku for S grades if you don't have her yet:
- SPC: SS.
- TEC: AA.
- 1 point into PW, bringing her to 450 + 250 = 700 PW, or 900 PW in Spade folder.
She can also be built for SS+ grades.
- SPC: SS.
- TEC: S.
- Even without points into PW, her PW stays high due to the style ability at 625 PW, or 825 PW in Spade folder.
BEATDOWN
If the chart allows for it, V-IGNITION BEATDOWN is Hakuno's strongest damage style, and a very strong damage style all around. V-BEATDOWN benefits from charts that have a lot of OKs, especially when you can extend a single Burst across multiple Verses.
Her ideal build is very straightforward, even without V-IGNITION:
- SPC: SS+, to maximize OK damage and get all the perks.
- ATK: S, to maximize note damage.
- TEC: AA, to maximize S-Radiant window and maintain Verse stars.
BLACK CAT BLASTER
Much like V-Stage Sera, BLACK CAT BLASTER relies on it's V-IGNITION to truly shine. However, the investment is more then worth it, as on spoiler songs BLACK CAT BLASTER stands as the best damage dealer currently in the game, outclassing even V-Stage Sumire here. Even outside spoiler songs, her new style abilities still give her incredibly high damage potential in any song you can bring the style into. What's more, her rounded base stat line allows easy building into both attack and survival builds if one wishes, as her unique burst negates all forms of damage.
Her unique niche means she'll be making many out of folder plays to maximize her potential, as her folder lacks any spoiler songs she can bring this style into (It's My Rebellion is style locked to Sumire STΔRLIVHT STΔGE). You'll want to bring her into Clover Folder (for Lure) and Joker Folder (for it's multitude of spoiler songs).
For damage, her stats are fairly straightforward:
- HP: AA, for perk
- TEC: B, but can be upgraded to A (see below)
- ATK: AA, for perk+damage
- SPC: SS, but can be upgraded to SS+(see below), for damage+perks
Your last stat point here can go into either A TEC, SS+ SPC, or into PW for higher end spoiler boss charts (namely Joker Folder HD and/or Lure HD).
For survival, her stats are also straightforward:
- HP: S
- TEC: A, to minimize the error window
- SPC: SS, for double burst uptime
The last stat point will also go into PW for accessing more spoiler charts.
Hitori
Much like his sister, Hitori focuses on dealing high damage while also having some defensive capabilities under certain builds. Hitori, however, often focuses more on high risk high reward gameplay, as shown through his Burst, which drains health in exchange for a large attack boost.
BLACKHEART
Hitori's BLACKHEART style, while just as capable of survival as Sumire BLACKHEART, can also be used as a safer, less risky damage dealer compared to styles like Sumire's STΔRLIVHT STΔGE or NUCLEAR DRIP, though keep in mind that while you can still deal high damage, it will still be much less then the listed styles. It should also be noted Hitori gains +100 PW more then Sumire using this style, which may help with out of folder plays.
Bursting gives you a temporary auto-burst, which carries over into new verses if unused. This allows for a possible maximum of three bursts (auto, manual, auto) per verse. V-IGNITION will also heal 66% of HP when your burst ends, further reducing the risk of using Hitori's burst. Alternatively, if you've carried your burst into a new verse, you could use the HP gain to further fuel Dark Star's HP drain if grazing sections are unavailable, as Dark Star will no longer boost damage if Hitori's HP is at 1.
After clearing Chapter VS.4, this style gains +1 SPC, giving him base B SPC and uncapping the SPC stat.
For damage builds, points should be put into ATK and SPC to maximize the damage boost from bursting. Note that the SS SPC perk won't apply to Hitori's burst, as it's duration is already infinite until the effect is ended manually (or automatically in this case), but it's still worth investing into for the damage boost.
- ATK: SS minimum
- SPC: SS minimum
Your last point should go into either ATK or SPC, though SPC is recommended for further increasing Dark Star's damage boost.
For survival, his stats should be:
- HP: S
- TEC: A
Though Dark Star cannot heal without AA SPC perk, BLACKSTAR V-IGNITION's healing should be enough for most songs, so having it on survival builds here is not recommended in most cases.
NUCLEAR DRIP
Hitori DRIP, while also specializing in dealing high damage like his sister, is also capable of more defensive plays thanks to receiving a full heal when activating his Burst. While he is not as song dependent as Sumire DRIP for plays, the style's low PW can still be a hurdle when dealing with songs out of folder or on Overload.
For damage, his ideal build would be, in order of priority:
- SPC: AA, you want to be able to keep your HP up to maximize the style's ability. S SPC is also recommended if you choose to disregard TEC entirely.
- ATK: SS, maximizes damage and activates all perks.
- HP: AA, the damage passive synergizes well with Hitori DRIP's ability.
- Your remaining point should be used, in rough priority, for either SPC, PW, or TEC. Unfortunately, the B TEC perk, while possibly useful for increasing damage, will not be be possible without sacrificing a point from another stat. If you choose to do so, it is not recommended to go further then B TEC, and you should not take points from SPC if it would take the stat below AA.
For survival, you will want to build into the following stats, again in rough order of priority:
- HP: S, having high HP here is a must to make the most out of Hitori DRIP's healing ability.
- SPC: Highly subjective, as simply Bursting and cancelling should give more then enough HP for tanking. You do not need more then AA if you want to invest here.
- Any remaining points should be put into PW. If you want to minimize the error window with A TEC, you will need to take a point from HP, so keep this in mind.
Joker
Joker is perhaps the most unique character to build for, as her styles are often much more difficult to use, but hold incredible power if one can master them. Although she lacks SS perks, her stats are all uncapped in exchange, even into V-IGNITION. Her styles also have very high PW, being her main stat, making them good for out of folder plays.
STΔRLIVHT STΔFF
Joker's starting style, possibly one of the most unique styles in the game, has a distinct ability in gaining stats on higher rated charts, gaining +1 to all stats on 10 or higher, and another +1 to her stats at 12 or higher. She is also the only style who can drop Void Crowns outside of game modes like Forge of Antiphon, albeit at random and replacing any Gem drops for the stage.
Regardless, her auto burst combined with her base stats and high PW makes her a style excellent for taking on high level songs after V-IGNITION, which is when she is at her strongest. However, this also means her true potential is locked behind playing these high end songs, and this will need to be accounted for when bringing her into charts. She's also heavily dependent on her V-IGNITION to shine, much like V-Stage Sera and V-Black Cat Blaster, as her most powerful abilities are locked behind V-IGNITION. This also means having to complete Joker Trial in Queen's Ascencion, the hardest regular course to unlock and complete.
Due to how her passive works after V-IGNITION, you may need to respec STΔRLIVHT STΔFF several times depending on the songs you play if you want to maximize her stat build, much like V-Stage Sera. Because of this, recommending a single stat distribution is difficult, but you should at least be putting enough points to hit AA SPC, as the perk goes very well with her auto burst. After that, put points into HP and TEC depending on whether you want to build for accuracy or survival. Accuracy builds should be noted, as her unique ability along with her rechargeable burst make her useful in going for high PW SS+ grades.
Damage focused builds could be possible as a way to farm Void Crowns, but is not recommended in most cases since the rest of her kit leans more into defense and accuracy builds. This ability should be considered more of a bonus, as there are more efficient ways to farm Void Crowns.
