In addition to Stat boosts, completing Battles also awards a random Module; generally, the greater the challenge, the more valuable the Module awarded. Modules enhance the Antiphon Armament's playstyle in various ways, from having Sparks deal Radiant damage to slowing down RS-DASH speed. Modules may also be purchased from the event's Shop.

The number of active modules depends on the style's level; at Level 10, only one Module may be active, and the rest are in storage. The style gains one additional active Module slot (replacing a storage slot) every 10 levels, for a maximum of 5 active slots at level 40. The order in which modules are equipped is not relevant for their effects.

Note that with every new playthrough, all Modules except one attached to the style will be lost, though the player is allowed to choose which one to keep.

Modules

A large variety of Modules can appear in a run of the Forge of Antiphon.

A card suit icon next to a module's name indicates if a module is exclusive to a certain character. A minus sign in front of a card suit icon indicates if a character cannot obtain a certain module.

Heart of the Challenger

There is one additional special Module only obtainable after a second playthrough: Heart of the Challenger. This Module unlocks Forged In Darkest Abyss as Iteration 9 in your run at the difficulty of your run. It can be purchased through the shop at the same cost as a Rare Module at the given Iteration (400, 500, then 600).

Heart of the Challenger cannot be obtained on the very first run of Forge of Antiphon on your save file. You must complete a run at the difficulty you intend to get Heart of the Challenger on.

Note that you must also complete a run with a character before Heart of the Challenger becomes available for them. For example, if you cleared Forge of Antiphon with Sera before, you will need to clear it again with Grace to unlock Heart of the Challenger with her, if you have not done so already.

Heart of the Challenger Evolutions

Evolutions of the Heart of the Challenger

After completing Forged In Darkest Abyss, the Heart of the Challenger Module can evolve into other Modules. You will get the chance to choose between three random evolutions for the Heart (see table below).

By clearing Forged In Darkest Abyss, you will also earn a number of Void Crowns depending on the difficulty of the run. If you deny the evolution, you will get a number of additional Void Crowns and the Module will stay as Heart of the Challenger. After picking an evolution, you can also check its effects before accepting it.

The Heart will not evolve in a Dummy Plug run. Instead, it denies the evolution, increasing the amount of Void Crowns.

Hollowed Heart

Under certain conditions, a special Heart of the Challenger Evolution may show up called Hollowed Heart. Accepting this evolution will grant access to as Iteration 10.

Using Glitched Catalyst while keeping Hollowed Heart will put you in Iteration 9, but after clearing it the evolution will be skipped and you will directly jump to Iteration 10. Because Hollowed Heart is an Evolution, it is not possible to access Iteration 10 in a Dummy Plug run, unless you bring an already evolved Hollowed Heart into it. It is also not possible to obtain Hollowed Heart from Glitched Catalyst if it was not obtained in a prior full run.

The rewards for clearing Iteration 10 are:

  • Allowing the Heart of the Challenger to evolve a second time.
  • Having your Antiphon Armament duplicated. (if the Heart is denied, a copy of the current Armament is added to the first Armament slot.)
  • A number of Void Crowns.
  • Unlocking in the selected difficulty of the run for free play.
