Story

As Grace makes her way through the Antiphon labs, she muses on how she's relied on Sera for most of her life, and how she knows she wouldn't want Grace to be here. Stornel suddenly calls out to her, intending to fulfill his promise. Grace asks why he's trying to help her. He reveals he was killed by Gaius himself, and still feels the drive for revenge even as a NOISZ Beast. Regardless, he is completely unable to fight Gaius himself, nor directly contradict his orders, limiting his ability to help. He can, however, tell them of something the NOISZ already posesses; the Final Burst. Grace asks him to confirm if this is a power that sacrifices the user's life, which he does; it's power draws from the user's sacrifice. While Grace hopes that they won't need to use it, she believes that if the worst should happen, she should be the one to use it.

At this, Sera interrupts her, telling her she doesn't have to do it; Sumire or Hakuno could use it just as easily if they must. She admits she knows it's a horrible thing to suggest, but as a last resort it wouldn't matter who used it. Grace refuses, unable to bring herself to ask them to do such a thing, and unwilling to let Sera do it in her stead. At a standstill, the two prepare to duel, with Grace taking the form of a hero wielding the Binary Star, and Sera taking the form of a dragon.

Meanwhile, Shion is struggling during practice after Yashiro outs Hakuno to the press. Asuka and Hikari reassure her that this won't affect what SUNRaiSE is at it's core, and that they don't regret bringing her onto the team. Shion muses she'd never known what being with supportive people had been like, being trapped with Hakuno in her parents' home for so long. Shion decides to call it for the night, and heads home, only to see her apartment set on fire.

Hakuno picks up a call from Shion, telling her to go to her aunt Heather's house for the time being, texting her the address before she runs out. She enters conceptual time and rushes to the apartment, seeing Shion still standing outside frozen in time. She reassures her things will be okay and heads in, where she sees a cloaked figure wielding a flaming sword over Yashiro's unconscious body.

Firebird acknowledges her arrival, asking Hakuno why she would come here; she despises her parents, and her sister is safe outside. Hakuno admits she doesn't care for her family, but doesn't believe they're worth killing, as they can no longer hurt her. Firebird is happy to hear this, but counters that they can still hurt Shion and many others. They argue that these powers can be used to protect the vulnerable, which Hakuno agrees, but she asks them to back off this one time. They refuse, and with neither of them willing to stand aside, the two begin their own duel.

In the present day, Beyond muses on the two events as the most unknown variables they've found; what happens here will decide everything, yet they know almost nothing about what happened. Joker is confused, noting she was supposed to be the one using the Final Burst. Beyond says it would be ideal if everything went according to their plan, but that doesn't mean it went accordingly. Joker notes she'd be dead either way, which leads her to another question; how is she here if she's supposedly dead, and how is she supposed to know what happened in these fateful duels?

Beyond reveals that Joker is also a simulation, much like the world she had seen. There are currently several thousand versions of her, with differing viewpoints and attitudes, all working to arrive to the same truth she is. Beyond believes once they analyze the data, they can finally arrive at the true reality they'd been seeking for so long. Joker muses on the revelation of her "self", noting she's simply one of thousands of copies of the "real her", who'd died two years ago. She is unsurprised, wondering if that'd been why she was so attached to the cycles. Regardless, she's certain her feelings for her friends are real, and wishes to do whatever she can to help them.

Beyond promises that she, also, will do what she can for STΔRLIVHT, despite not knowing their condition either, and asks Joker to help her find the truth. Joker, understanding that Beyond wouldn't ask her if her feelings weren't real, makes her choice with the rest of "herself".
