Overview
Rate is the term for the main damage modes the NOISZ can utilise. Most of these are now holdovers from earlier in NOISZ Ignition's life, but for the purposes of keeping them all together, all types of Rate will be explained here. Also note that offensive Rates and defensive Rates can be active at the same time, as well as Lethal Rate and Inverted Rate active together in certain circumstances, but no two offensive Rates can be active at exactly the same time.
Deletion
The main offensive mode for the NOISZ. Before entering Overflow, the NOISZ is in Deletion Rate. Upon reaching +0%, the victory text will read "Target Deleted". Anything under this will fail the song and read "Target Escaped".
Absolution
The main Overflow mode for the NOISZ. After entering Overflow, the NOISZ also enters Absolution rate. With +200% Overflow, the NOISZ will purify the target, with the victory text reading "Target Purified". Reaching +200% in Absolution Rate is required for certain songs in Course Mode and in certain songs in Story Mode Story C.
Obliteration
A secondary Overflow mode for the NOISZ. After entering Overflow, even if you get +200% Overflow, the NOISZ will not purify the target and will automatically delete the target, with victory text reading "Target Deleted" even with a AA, S, or SS grades. This rate appears named in X2 and is always active alongside Inverted Rate in Story Mode Route B.
Inversion
Inversion Rate is different to the three other "offensive" rates of NOISZ as Inversion Rate is a "defensive" rate, only applying to the player should they take enough damage to be left on 0 lives. If the player is hit when they have 0 lives, the enemy will gain health according to the formula <math>\frac{100\%}{life count}</math>. This can and will push you back into Deletion Rate, and fail the verse. Inversion Rate is featured in NOISZ and Void Beast songs, and in Story Mode Route B. Before a song with Inversion Rate active, the text will simply read "Inversion Active".
Certain songs will see the enemy gain a set amount of health, like D.S. al fine healing by 150% on Overload (despite Lethal Rate active), 100% on Hard difficulty, and by 50% on Normal during the quiz.
In Quicksilver, due to the special gimmick, the first hit down to 0 lives will heal the boss by 20%, and each subsequent hit after that will heal 40%.
Lethal
Lethal Rate is the second "defensive" rate showcased in NOISZ, appearing in certain final boss songs, Entrance and in every song on Overload difficulty. Upon reaching 0 lives in Lethal Rate, you will immediately game over and be forced to restart the song.
