Bio

Even among Antiphon's elite cadre of mad scientists, Remora is infamous for her twisted experiments on the World of Music's inhabitants. By infusing them with NOISZ Beast technology, Remora turns old friends(?) into powerful and vicious opponents...

Remora is a researcher at Antiphon. Remora can be very eccentric about her research, and her curiosity often leads her to make mistakes that endanger those around her.

Ever since Stornel's death, Remora has been under blackmail, something Gaius Antiphon used to threaten her into completing the NOISZ. After his death, an Alpha-possessed Arietta took control of her.

Story

NOISZ re:||VERSE

In NOISZ re:||VERSE, the main character walks by the labs in the Antiphon building on the way to the basement portal. When they notice Karin in Remora's lab, they try to break in and rescue her, but fail. Remora greets them, and engages the main character in combat, using her own NOISZ that wields the souls of Noise Beasts to fight.

Remora comments on the main character's bonds before fainting after being defeated, and the main character enters her lab to free Karin using a keycard she drops.

In Ending 3, Remora becomes the head of Antiphon R&D and the face of the company after Beyond becomes a recluse following Arietta's death. She greets the main character as they arrive to check on Beyond, holding no resentment from their previous fight. The two dicuss Beyond's current state, and Remora wishes she could do more before they arrive at Beyond's office. Remora then returns to her work.

In Ending 4, Remora leads Antiphon R&D alongside Stornel under Beyond's direction. Remora expresses a desire to know how the main character used the NOISZ to resurrect everyone, asking how they had managed such a feat for science.

NOISZ STΔRLIVHT

Remora appears taking the identity of "Beyond" as she interrogates Joker for information on STΔRLIVHT's whereabouts. For further information, see Beyond (NOISZ STΔRLIVHT).

NOISZ Final

The main character contacts Remora after having a dream about Alpha, suspecting she may have survived. Remora reveals the original NOISZ contained a fragment of Alpha's power, and that the NOISZ Beasts they had fought were merely robots after studying the remains of both. She reveals that she had planned for this beforehand, although she is unable to remember how or why. The main character asks if they can help, to which Remora asks if they really want to be a part of this again, being the only one who's ever escaped their situation alive. They confirm they do, and Remora prepares more copies of the NOISZ/RS and sets up the original Joker to find STΔRLIVHT's whereabouts. (see Beyond (NOISZ STΔRLIVHT))

History

Remora was part of the team working on the N Project, which eventually developed the NOISZ.

She worked alongside Stornel, but their models for the prototype were at odds. Stornel believed that her model had unsolvable conceptual issues, but after some encouragement from Beyond, he resigned himself to looking at her data. While reviewing the data with Stornel, Arietta noticed that the safety data appeared to be generated.

Gaius Antiphon confronted Remora and Stornel about the generated data. Both were hesitant to say anything, but Remora admitted to falsifying the data and that Stornel had no knowledge of this. Gaius, as retaliation, brought out a prototype NOISZ, the one that would eventually become the true NOISZ. He forced Stornel to test it. The device killed him within less than a minute of use as Remora watched helplessly. Gaius then threatened to sue her if she refused to complete the NOISZ.

When Beyond and Arietta were injured after opening the portal, Remora administered first aid. She was also the one to give Beyond and Arietta special black cloths that are designed to contain their void corruption.

After a string of failures in managing Antiphon, Beyond was ridden with feelings of guilt and inadequacy. Remora assured her that these outcomes were not her fault, and revealed Stornel's disappearance was due to his death in a lab accident. During this moment, Beyond decided to run the company better than her father and came up with the name "Beyond Antiphon." Remora helped her and Arietta run away, taking the NOISZ with them.

After Gaius retook the NOISZ, Remora began planning with Arietta and Beyond to find a way to reclaim it. After Arietta dreams of STΔRLIVHT's HI-LIVE performance and the Noise Beast attack, they attend the concert themselves and Remora uses her NOISZ to defeat the Noise Beast, saving STΔRLIVHT. With Arietta's predictions confirmed to be true, she and Remora plan to use STΔRLIVHT to defeat Gaius and reclaim the NOISZ. While Arietta's body is controlled by Joker, Remora acts as "Beyond" whenever she needs to make a physical appearance.

Some time after Gaius' death, Arietta approached Remora with the Void Beast concept. Remora objected to killing Noise Beasts in the process, saying that it would stain her hands with blood. Arietta revealed that she is aware of Stornel's death and threatened to wield it against her like Gaius did. Remora asked for confirmation that Arietta is no longer the one in control, to which Alpha stated that Arietta has not been in control of herself for a significant period of time by then.
