Bio
"...Show me how powerful you really are."<ref>NOISZ STΔRLIVHT - Chapter 4.IV</ref>
Genbu is a NOISZ Beast kept in a secret Antiphon lab on the outskirts of town; not much is known of her, other than the fact she is a NOISZ Beast who closely resembles Grace Kamenashi. She is the boss for Lure and Last Wish (NOISZ Mix) in NOISZ STΔRLIVHT and VANDALIZED AI in NOISZ ARC⌖CODA. She is also playable in with my (last+1) breath in NOISZ STΔRLIVHT.
Story
NOISZ STΔRLIVHT
Genbu appears in Chapter 4.IV in the collapsing Antiphon lab; she moves to attack STΔRLIVHT to protect the lab, and is confronted by Grace. In response, Genbu asks Grace to show her how strong she is. When Grace defeats her, she falls to the ground, unmoving.
NOISZ STΔRLIVHT True Heroes
Genbu reappears in Chapter -1.IV, as one of the seals Joker placed on herself to hide the true end of STΔRLIVHT's final battle. She battles Joker in order to test if she is ready to see the truth she hid from both the world and herself.
NOISZ Ignition
Genbu appears at the end of Chapter 10A to stop a rampaging Gaius Antiphon; however, the main character does not see what happens next, dying to Gaius' influence shortly afterward.
NOISZ re:||VERSE
If you S-Rank or skip the credits of NOISZ re:||VERSE, an extra scene plays. The specific scene depends on the ending, but in all scenes, Genbu is called upon to assist.
In Ending 1 - re:||UNION (both 1A and 1B) and Ending 4 - re:||ALIZED MIRACLE, Arietta apologizes for arriving earlier then expected and commands Genbu to execute order 0041.
In Ending 2 - re:||SURRECTION, the main character feels Beyond calling them to the Void. Arietta says that she knows someone who can help (which is implied to be Genbu from other endings' scenes).
In Ending 3 - re:||PARATION, a hologram of Arietta passes full control of Genbu onto "Kaharu Antiphon." Beyond describes how the main character feels Arietta calling them to the Void. She asks for Genbu's help before telling Genbu to execute command 0041.
Trivia
- Genbu's name and appearance are inspired by Genbu (玄武), one of the Four Symbols in Japanese and Chinese mythology.
- Although Genbu, one of the Four Symbols, is typically depicted as a tortoise with a snake tail, the characters that compose the name do not mention either animal. Black Warrior of the North is considered a more faithful interpretation of the name.<ref>https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Tortoise</ref> Genbu (the NOISZ Beast)'s design takes after this interpretation of Genbu.
- The kanji for Genbu's name (玄武) appear in the image for the achievement "The Lost Fourth."
